Sondra
I taught my daughter long ago
her dreams can not come true
if she won’t write them down in words
and keep them fresh in view
I told her “Read them every day,
believe in where you’ll be”
And Sondra took me at my word
I’d helped her find the key
She writes her thoughts for all to see
in words of warm detail
I’m proud of her, she has a gift
I doubt she’ll ever fail
So shame on you for thinking that
she writes what she’s not known
She lives it all in dreams she has
then puts it in a poem.
