Sondra’s Poetry

With You on this Night

The stars loom bright on the darkness of night.
The moon is robust in its haunting light.
Crickets serenade the earth with joyous delight.

The leaves from the trees fall gently as we walk.
Like children at play, we reach out to touch them.
A breeze is stirring the voices of night.

Gazing curiously onto this scene,
We wonder at the shadows this night brings,
And ponder the future – and the day after that.

I hold you close as you hold me.
The stars don’t compare with the light in your eyes.
All I see and feel is you.

In this night scene we are together,
Without fear, without pain,
Without the world anywhere near.

We don’t know what morning will bring,
But here, the world has disappeared
And everything to me is you.
